Logan Paul is fighting Floyd Mayweather this weekend.
The Youtuber turned pro boxer – who lost his first professional fight against fellow YouTuber KSI – will face the 50-0 great on June 6 in an exhibition fight with no judges, but knockouts are allowed.
Paul has a distinct size advantage over Mayweather at around five inches and he is 18 years the junior of his legendary opponent, too.
However, Mayweather is Mayweather. One of the greatest technical boxers to ever set foot in the ring and despite being 44, he’s never really stopped training.
Still, this is proof that Logan Paul and his brother Jake can get the big money fights. They’ve managed to use their YouTube audiences – where Logan has around 23 million subscribers – as capital to get opportunities in other fields.
One name consistently on Jake’s mouth has been Conor McGregor. At the media day during fight week for his showdown with Mayweather, Logan was asked about the prospect of facing the Irishman.
“Conor McGregor [gestures small], me [gestures big],” Paul started. “I grew vertically and horizontally. Conor McGregor, big name, small guy. Big name, small guy. Me, little name, big guy.”
Conor McGregor is going to face Dustin Poirier on July 10 in an effort to avenge the defeat he suffered earlier this year at UFC 257.
He’s focused on MMA right now, but in the wake of his defeat to Poirier, McGregor admitted to talkSPORT that he had wanted to fight Manny Pacquiao this year in a return to boxing.
Pacquiao now takes on Errol Spence Jr on August 21 in Las Vegas. It’s not clear where McGregor’s focus will be after the Poirier fight, but one has to think it’s a way off either of the Paul brothers.
Especially considering McGregor branded the altercations between Mayweather and both Paul brothers ‘embarassing’ a few weeks ago.
