WWE legend Mick Foley has literally got on his knees to beg Vince McMahon to push Cesaro.
The Swiss Superman, 40, beat Seth Rollins in his first ever singles match at WrestleMania in April, nine years after making his main roster debut.
He followed up his WrestleMania 37 triumph by unsuccessfully challenging Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship in the BackLash main event.
However, there is a feeling among fans that the WWE chairman does not regard Cesaro as a big-time player in his company.
In an interview with Steve Austin on The Broken Skull Sessions, WWE Hall of Famer Foley made a plea to McMahon to push Cesaro to the moon.
He said: “Can I talk to the camera? Vince, please… you [Austin] started in ’88 or ’89?
“We have 60 years of experience, we know a little something. We both proved Vince wrong, right?
“He had us set for this level and I’d say we exceeded that level. Trust us and give him the chance.
“Let him prove… I’ll get down on my knees, and I’ll beg… Vince, please.
“All we’re saying is give Cesaro a chance. I just believe in that guy wholeheartedly. Give him a chance.”
Cesaro returned to WWE TV on the most recent SmackDown taping to attack Rollins as their feud looks set to continue.
