Arsenal’s have received a boost in their pursuit of Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham.
The Gunners have embarked on a rebuild this summer as they look to bounce back from a disappointing 2020/21 season.
Despite ending the season in excellent form, winning their last five games of the season, Arsenal finished in a very disappointing eighth place.
It means the Gunners failed to qualify for any European competition for the first time in 26 years.
Manager Mikel Arteta will be hoping to see his side push for a Champions League spot this season.
The club’s sporting director, Edu has been putting in plenty of work off the pitch to ensure that this season is better for the north London club.
Deals for Albert Sambi Lokonga and Nuno Tavares for £17.2million and £8m from Anderlecht and Benfica respectively have been completed, while Ben White’s £50m transfer from Brighton also edges ever closer to completion.
The club is not done yet with James Maddison from Leicester and Aaron Ramsdale from Sheffield United linked and The Athletic reported Abraham is on their radar.
And it’s believed the player is open to a move to the Emirates should a concrete offer come in.
Under Frank Lampard the English striker netted 15 goals in the Premier League in 34 games during the 2019/20 campaign.
Lampard’s departure midway through last season and Tuchel’s appointment saw Abraham’s game time limited. He fell down the pecking order and in the final three months of the season he only played 17 minutes.
And this summer the Blues have been pursuing Borussia Dortmund wonderkid Erling Haaland and Bayern Munich superstar Robert Lewandowski as they look to improve their attacking options.
But before a deal for Abraham is agreed with Chelsea, Arsenal must first look to sort out the futures of Alex Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah.

Both players only have 12 months left on their current contracts and it is being reported that Nketiah is unwilling to sign a new deal due to a lack of assurance over game time.
Plenty of changes are set to occur at the Emirates over the next few weeks as the Gunners gear up for their first game of the season in four weeks time against Brentford.
